Shackle Me Not - H-Street - 1988

Shackle Me Not from H-Street Skateboards, circa 1988. This was H-Street's first video, and its fucking awesome. Mike Ternasky and Tony Magnusson were trying to take skateboarding back from huge companies that were disconnected from what skateboarding was becoming. They would produce these sweet videos with hand-held video cameras and do all their own editing. This video came out at the same time as Public Domain, which had a lot more money and backing to it. You really have to hand it to these guys for creating such an epic company that helped change street skating forever.

Featured Skaters: Ron Allen, Jeremy Allyn, Dave Andrecht, Mike Carroll, Eddie "El Gato" Elguera, Richard Ezekiel, Jim Gingery, Art Godoy, Matt Hensley, Carl Hyndman, Ben Job, Darrin Kimura, Jeff Klindt, Tom Knox, Chris Livingston, Brian Lotti, Tony Magnusson, Ryan Monihan, David Nielsen, Steve Ortega, Jeff Pettite, Jason Richardson, Brennand Schoeffel, John Schultes, Ray Simmonds, John Sonner, Dave Sornson, Aaron Vincent, and Danny Way

I've searched for Next Generation and can only find Ocean Howell's part. You'd think whoever uploaded the his part would put the entire video up. Hopefully someone has the VHS lying around somewhere and puts it online soon.

This video was amazing...I remember I had purchased Powell Peralta's Public Domain Video back in 1987-88 but I remember thinking how H-Street's Shackle Me Not blew away Public Domain in the way of tricks. Public Domain has some fun video parts and it's very artsy with good video quality. But Shackle Me Not had me rewinding and pausing more trying to figure out how to do those tricks. :)

Still Skateboarding
